Default cleaning film

I was looking on a site about cleaning film it was about cleaning Kodak cine ,they recommended using isopropyl alcohol ,on another site they used it for cleaning water/drying marks of the shiny side of the film ,
has anybody tried this and what were the results....

If I get drying/water marks on the shiny side of film, I re soak my film in wetting agent (Tetenal Mirosol, which already has isopropyl alcohol in it) and hang it up to dry, if it is very slight then maybe I would try polishing the neg carefully with a microfibre cloth, but as for using it neat, I don't think I would like to try it

Shiny Side: I've had luck with breathing on a good microfibre cloth and then trying to gently lift the mark off. This didn't always work when I used to use Ilfotol . . however since switching to Photo-Flo, no problems.
The thing with drying marks is I think they can be the case of too much wetting agent used, and it not being mixed through the water thoroughly.
With Photo-Flo I use 1 drop per 1200ml! This is very gently mixed through with my hand (which I've run under a tap to avoid any skin flake transference ). You have to avoid foaming of the solution too - it is a total bugger. Anyway, it works for me.

Emulsion Side: I've had bits of dust embed themselves into the emulsion and become unshiftable when dry - the only way to deal with that has been to resoak the film and do the whole procedure again . . or go and have a cup of tea, muttering 'Why do I bother?' to yourself . . .

As Paul said - the Fotospeed film cleaner might well be around - not used it, but always thought it looked interesting.
Film is pretty robust stuff these days.

I have tried the pure isopropyl alcohol with a lint free cloth on a strip of film
that had drying marks on it and it cleared the marks of and left the neg sparkling clean and no scratches ,I have been printing some negs that were taken just after the war some of them are quite dirty and have been looking for a way to clean them ,they came up clean and sparkling as well and no scratches .
I have always suffered from drying marks from time to time and have tried everything over the years ,and this seems to work well ,and if this is the way they clean and restore old cine film ,it must have on long term effects.?????????
