I have now seen the programme. Really good although I found it quite harrowing in parts.

I have a couple of her books and went to see an exhibition of her photographs at the V&A (?) about 10 years ago.
I having read the books I felt rather sorry for her - before the war she was a free acting/free loving/free living person. What she saw in the war clearly had a huge affect on her and she suffered what we now call PTSD, which blighted her life for very many years. Martin |
