I have heard nothing, paul, but that doesn't mean much. Nor have I seen anything on Photrio but again this is not proof either way. What was your source?

Well it looks authentic Marty but still nothing on the website and given it offers film and chemicals on its website I would have expected to see some reference to it in the Ilford Photo news section.

I suppose that it might be happy to sell existing stocks at current prices but you'd still think that it would give a "good news and bad news" type of announcement that when current stocks run out the price increase will take effect. We will soon know if the report is accurate. The price increase is allegedly immediate but then mentions 1st May which strictly speaking isn't immediate but if we allow our source a little leeway then it is imminent so we should see an increase in Ilford Photo's website prices on Friday

Frankly the days of complete honesty appear to have gone and the "what you see is what you get" attitude seems to have largely disappeared with "new" film manufacturers who make no film claiming to have made a new product

The modern age has destroyed my faith in product honesty. I find myself checking a calendar when I see mention of what today's date is

I'm just glad Ilford continue to trade.

If you want to moan about the prices of Ilford products - just compare them to their Kodak and Fuji equivalents.

I for one would be utterly screwed if they stopped trading.

gents, I don't think the point of this thread is to debate the justification of otherwise of an Ilford price increase. It was to find out if anyone else had seen anything and so far that appears to be Marty and his source which is not Ilford

My comments were strictly not relevant either but again I was merely commenting on a general situation where my feeling is that at best I find it difficult to trust various sources these days.

However that's just my feeling on the "internet" and I shall refrain from any more comments of this nature.

So do we know any more than Marty has given us about the Ilford price increase?

Thanks

Mike

I'm just going to wait until Ilford confirms anything, which is the best place to look to for news about the subject.

If prices go up (as they will, sooner or later), as said, rather an increase in prices than not continuing to trade.
