Default blue/green buttons next to name???

All posts include in the headline the name of the poster and next to the name there is a round button either blue or green. It's not really a problem, but I can't figure out what these buttons are for. Can somebody explain?
Peter

Peter they are not buttons but indicators of the users online status. If they are grey they are offline.

I'm unable to upload my photo used in this months print exchange. I'm getting a message to say that I have insufficient KB. My photo is a JPG file with Dims of 880 x 615 and size of 77.3 KB, it seems that I've only have 7 KB left in my account. I'm not sure how to overcome this problem as my IT knowledge is limited.

Vincent I have increased the gallery upload quota. Please try again and let me know if you still have difficulties.

Default how to post pictures

hi
how do i post pictures on a thread? Whenever I try it says there's an error. I look at the file size and it says 3MB or so, which I understand is larger than the limit of 1MB but I don't know to go around that. This is by using the attachment icon; the insert image one asks for a url which i dont know.
I saw someone did it with an attached thumbnail, how does one do that?
thanks
theo

Scroll down until you see the 'Attach Files' - click on the 'manage attachments'. In that box browse to the image you want. Then click upload. Then close that window. Your image should appear as an attachment.
If you edit your jpeg image using an image editor such as Photoshop, GIMP or Faststone Image Viewer etc and make the longest side 1400 pixels and reduce the quality to about 80 your image should upload ok.

Apologies, re-reading your message you look like you have the uploading etc sorted. You need to reduce the file size to 1MB and 1400 pixels on the longest edge. If you don't know how to do that maybe Google it!
