Thanks Brock
I based the 10 week courses on the ones I used to run at the Brewery in the 90's. It was pre digital days so that was the only way but they were very popular. I have weekend ones as well though.

Price wise a lot of classes and courses are run by county council subsidised organisations so I have to compete. I need to make a small profit and with only 5 participants that does make the commitment required quite steep... or are you saying you think I could get more?

Say 6 weeks at £199?

Yes I am passionate about photography, some would say fanatical. It has been a lifetime obsession.

I think teaching is 80% enthusiasm and 20% knowledge. The person who taught me to teach said all you need is enthusiasm and to be one book ahead of the students.

Thanks for the feedback.

Ooh awesome, didn't know about this. Will definitely have to come say hello next time I'm in the area.

Brilliant, I hope I'll see some of you there.

It must be 7 or 8 years since we met at Inversnaid Barry. Time for a catch up I think.

I will announce workshop dates in a couple of days. I will put them on the Facebook page and on the Tumblr blog, but if anyone would like to go on my good old fashioned, Royal Mail assisted mailing list please E mail your name and address to me at talk@steventaylorphotography.co.uk

I am limiting delegates to just 5 and the cost will be just £150 per weekend plus materials, it's a snip because I want it to work. I have 10 titles at the moment that I intend to repeat. Here's a taster;

Beginner's Black and White Darkroom.

Darkroom Refresher (the fine print).

Black and White Landscape on Film.

Large Format.

Old Processes (Cyanotype, Salt Printing etc.)

Olympus Trip Weekend (or Let's Go Tripping).

Pinhole Cameras (making and working with).

Advanced Fine Printing.

Basic Black and White Film Photography.

Beautiful Old Cameras (we can play with my collection and make pictures).

There will be others. I would like to run some masterclasses as well with some well known names (I have had a word with a couple of people) in fields that are more specialist than I can manage on my own. Obviously these will be a good deal more expensive because I will have to pay the master.

Kaouthia, I just saw you're in Lancaster, virtually on the doorstep.

Yup, not far at all. I usually end up shooting in the lakes every month or two, so will definitely swing by for the grand tour sometime.

It looks like you've been really busy Steven and it's nice to see all of your hard-work paying off because it looks excellent.

Great location too and I hope to call in one day when I'm next over visiting family.

Thanks, it was hard work, took a long time as well. I need to make it pay now though.

So far, I've been open a week, I've sold an Olympus Trip to a photography student and a framed 20x16 to the Forestry Commission (my landlords), I need to do better but it's not busy time yet.
