Certo Phot anyone ?
I've just picked up an old 1950's Certo Phot 120 film camera, its in good nick and seems to be working, but I know nothing else about it or where it was made etc, it has a Bulb and M setting, F8 and 11 apertures, and a distance scale , and thats about it, I've never tried " Lomography" but I have a feeling thats what I'll be doing when I try it out with a roll of outdated Shanghai film for the first time
I have several folding cameras that I know work well, but this is something different, does anyone have one of these or know anything about them? Thanks Tim |

It's an East German camera made in Dresden, the original company was based in Dresden and founded in 1902, in 1972 they became state controlled in 1972 as VEB Certo, and finally became part of VEB Pentacon in 1980.
Certo cameras were better known here before WWII, they couldn't have competed with the slightly better made Halina's coming into the UK from Hong Kong. Ian |

Certo
OK thanks
It was cheap and cheerful, but I'm keen to run a roll of film through it, just for the fun of it, and see how it turns out, and its a fraction of the weight of the ETRS, not that you can really compare them, but it might be a way of doing some lightweight medium format work on occasions that doesn't involve a folding camera.
