Thanks for the links to obituary and pics, Nick. Her 1970 picture of Blackpool's holidaymakers on the crowded beach is like seeing a picture of an aristocratic weekend shooting party in 1913 in that two events over the following 5 years in each case were to change a way of life forever. Little did either group imagine the extent of those changes

I've just seen this shared on Facebook and come here and see it. I too had not heard of her before, but have also enjoyed looking at those photographs and will research more. Photographs of this style and from this era are right up my street. Thanks for posting.

Matthew, you may also be interested in Martin Parr's study of New Brighton's residents and visitors. I think his is a slightly later era and being Martin Parr it is all colour prints but some very good street photography in what was a fading resort.
