The owner obviously has no idea what its worth so has just put a million quid to get ebay browsers attention which he seems to have suceeded in doing here. I don't think he's serious about the million unless he's a complete numpty.

The best offer will find its level. Probably worth 20 or 30 quid to a photo collector (at a push).

Another one in the same category, there is a Junghans timer (Rare) for a buy it now price of £495, I just cannot understand it.

Its marketing psychology. Put a very high buy it now price with a best offer option. People think they need to make a higher than its worth best offer. Seller gets a good final price. Don't be fooled.
