Greetings
My Name is Barry
I have just returned to using film after an absence of about 12 years using solely digital [am I allowed to use that term on this forum!] Photography has been a serious hobby of mine ever since I purchased my first 'serious' camera an exa 500 in 1967, had my own darkroom and did my own processing since about 1973, I have used and collected from Rolleiflex TLR to Minox sub miniature, processing both formats. I have been missing [B&W] film, so I bought a gem of a Rollei 35s some FP4 gone through a couple of rolls and now have discovered Kentmere 100 which has amazed me. I no longer have a darkroom as such, just the bathroom for processing and scanning onto my mac. I shall post some images in the gallery. Bye for now from the sunny south coast. |

Hi Barry, and welcome aboard.
And welcome back, at least partially, to the dark side. Unfortunately, the "partially" bit causes a bit of a problem. Sorry, but only darkroom created prints are allowed on the forum. I know few photographers still have a darkroom and the large number of younger film users have probably never even seen one, but per the name, FADU's remit is to promote darkroom work and part of that is to only allow darkroom prints on the forum & gallery and to not cover issues such as scanning etc - there are a large number of places for those discussions but few where only traditional methods are discussed. Sorry for any disappointment that may cause, but we are happy to assist and chat about any traditional methods that take your fancy! Cheers, Bob. |

Welcome Barry. It's funny how a desire to return to B&W can take you. I was the same. It makes no sense on the surface. My little grand-daughter looks at a print and tells me that grass isn't grey

I was not aware of the 'darkroom' rule, however I do appreciate it and will remove my album. Regards Barry |

Hi Barry. Yes, it's a forum for both shooting and printing traditionally. However, please don't stop visiting. Circumstances might not let wet print now (or at all) but as someone who uses film and film cameras there's plenty to discuss, learn and share.
Good to see you here. |
