Default Slide Mounts MF

Have developed and mounted 35mm with some success, and have decided to have a bash at MF slides.

Have got film, a few mounts and a multiformat projector and just need to take some picture to give it a go.

Have got Gepe mounts with glass, which I think might prevent any flex of transparency once used in projector.

Anybody got any advice on any pitfalls that might crop up in MF rather than 35mm.

( Has anybody got any MF slide paraphanalia that they no longer require and might be interested in parting with ? )

Ian

I've used and mounted 6x6 and 6x4.5 slides for a long time, and I'm not aware of any problems, other than obtaining a supply of mounts.

Hi Stan,

Managed to get some mounts of Ebay, but I notice that one of our sponsors sell them, and that you can order direct from Gepe themselves. So at the moment supply of mounts seems to be ok.

I do not have a mount "press" at the moment, do you think that I could get by without one ? Is it possible to press them together by hand ?

Thanks for the reply.

Ian

Make sure that MF glass slide mounts are clean. They seem to attract a lot more detritus than 35mm.

No special problems mounting MF. I've tried glassless mounts but they are rather liable to "pop" when viewing. Pity the glass mounts aren't a little cheaper though.
Nothing quite like slides taken with the Bronica Rollei or Kiev I think.

I've never had any problems with mounting by hand in glass mounts.

Thanks for that Stan, hopefully I will not have a problem either.
