Default Ilford Delta 3200 and Prescysol or Exactol Lux

I guess this is directed at Peter Hogan.

I'm looking at trying several developers with Ilford Delta 3200. Have been reading your website and am not sure which of Prescysol, Prescysol EF or Exactol Lux is the one to try first.

I will be using Ilford Delta 3200 (135 format). I will also be using a jobo processor so the developer must be suitable for use in rolled tank machine and Prescysol seems to be the one for that. But then Exactol Lux seems to be recommended for Delta 3200. So which is better for roller tank and this film?

I would like to retain as much speed as possible and keep grain under control. Doesn't have to be the absolute finest grain as I'm not going to be enlarging past 12x8 image size but soft highlights are desirable as these will be wedding images and too much grain will be a bad thing. At the moment I'm thinking either Prescysol or Prescysol EF.

Which would you recommend I tryout first?.

Thanks

Hi Percepts, both standard Prescysol and Exactol Lux will do the job with Delta 3200 in a Jobo. A few notes though; keep the drum rotation as slow as possible, add 30% more of solution 'A' to the solution to prevent the sulphite oxidising away completely and don't try to economise with the developer when using a Jobo - make sure you have enough or it may exhaust before development is complete. Pre-soak the film in water at the same temp for 5 mins.

Thanks Peter,
I will put an order in soon. I have a lot of testing to do with various developers.
