Default New here too...

Hi Im Toby...as the thread and it's placement in the 'introductions' section probably gives it away do I need to say I'm new here?

I picked up a leaflet in Silverprint the other day advertising this site next to a small exhibition of your members work...one of my favourite shops (along with Stanfords). It feels like an oasis every time I go in, somewhere where I can breathe a sigh of relief and basque in the fact that there are like minded people in this world clinging onto belief that film should survive against the onslaught of digital and large companies eyeing their annual budgets and profit margins, toying with the thought of stopping the production of certain films and papers...(the fact that I stagger back into the real world with slightly jelly like legs has nothing to do with how much money I have spent...honest...)

I have been takling photographs for over twenty years but have only recently become heavily involved in it again. Through various circumstances I went without a darkroom for about 7 years so it felt like I was in hibernation. I still took photographs and developed the film when I could but couldn't print.

Now I return to find Kodak no longer make Ektalure, Neutol is no longer sold as a powder and buying T-max 400 in bulk is no longer cheaper. But there you go. I am still not convinced I have found a replacement paper, though I am playing with Fomatone 532 at the moment and I am slowly coming round...(any tips or suggestions are welcome)

Anyway, I could go on on and on, so I will stop here. Its great to join and be a part of all this...my new website is at http://www,TobyDeveson.com if you are interested...I am very pleased with it. This isnt a plug but I suppose new traffic is always welcome and I do genuinely want to share my work and hear peoples opinions, so there you go!

Thanks

Toby

Welcome Toby, that's a nice site that you have built yourself, I've taken the liberty of editing an error in the address you posted; changed a comma to a stop so that the link works.

Hi Toby and welcome to FADU. I visited your site and enjoyed your images - especially the landscapes. You have a good eye there.

thanks neil, appreciate it. It's the landscapes I am concentrating on at the moment, working on an book and exhibition...as soon as i can find some money...certainly the exhibition is only as far away as the cost of the frames.
