Hi Laura and welcome from Aberdeen.

Living in the central belt you have relatively easy access to most of the best bits of Scotland.

Enjoy the course (it was erm, one or two years/decades) since I did my HNC......good to see they're still running and not evolving into "photoshop" classes !

Foler,

It stands for "Higher National Certificate" and is a recognised qualification.

There are many courses you can take to HNC level.

The next level up is the HND (Diploma) though I suspect they are even harder to find.

Welcome from an exiled Scot (who used to live in Edinburgh). I too have recently retired although I am considerably older than 46. I spend nearly 18 months planning and building my darkroom and what a joy it is to finally have a purpose built room.
