Greetings from the wet and windy English Lakes
It's not always wet and windy... sometimes it's just wet.
I'm a professional photographer,I have been for over 30 years. I kicked so hard against developing (no pun intended) a digital work flow but in the end I would have gone out of business so I had to let the pixel fairies in to my life. What you lose on the roundabouts you win on the swings and I got super keen on making my personal work again. I love going in to my darkroom again. I'm not knocking out 100 plastic 10x8's for a PR firm anymore. Instead, I'm making archive processed beauty's, well I think they are, deved in my own mixed Dr Beers. Have you noticed that there are three normal hours to one darkroom hour? Anyway, I found out about this forum in the RPS Journal and I am looking forward to contributing. Barrie, I think we met at Inversnaid? Steven |

Don't forget it snows there too (which is more than it ever does down here for more than 2 hours, once per year)...
Welcome aboard Steven - have fun. Cheers, Bob. |

Welcome Steven and come on, it does not always rain in the Lake District. I have spent many many happy hours climbing in the Lakes and have camped in most areas albeit Borrowdale, Wasdale, and Langdale are my favourite areas. Where do you live?
Anyway enjoy your time here

I seem to be hanging around here this afternoon as well so ...welcome Steven.
Seems like we have similar backgrounds; 35+ years behind the viewfinder here, but only just getting back to my roots after many years out of the darkroom. You have to be careful round here but...<whisper> I actually really enjoy digital work, but love trad. just as much</whisper>. It's all photography after all.

Welcome Steven, your location sounds idyllic (well, when its not raining). Inversnaid, very likely

Hi Steven and welcome. I shall be in your neck of the woods between Chritmas and New Year. I'd love some snow....

Oh yes indeed, a great week. I'm hoping to visit there sometime in 2009, I missed last year
Are you still using LF?
