Agfa 100 Developer
Can anybody translate the entry below for Agfa 100 Developer.
The names of the chemicals seem to resemble those in John Finch's book "The Art of Black and White Photography," slight difference in one of the quantities. Also it seems to me to have a different total volume and dilution rate. I do not speak any foreign languages at all and had to use an internet automatic translation site. https://archive.org/details/agfaReze...e/n11/mode/2up The link takes you to and American internet library and has Kodak formula books and Ilford formula books if you search. All sorts, not just photography, and free to use. Thank you and cheers. p.s. There are English versions on the site , but they do not contain the Agfa 100 formula. https://archive.org/search.php?query=Agfa+formulas

Natrium is sodium and Kalium is potassium. -sulphite, -quinone, -carbonate and -bromide are as you'ld expect.
250 ml for a stock solution and mix 1+3 for use. 1-2 minutes for normal development. Get a second opinion, though. |

Agfa 100 - ordinary/conventional developer.
Metol (=Metatyl) 1 g Sodium sulfite 13g Hydoquinone 3g washing soda, sodium carbonate 26g potassium bromide 1g The chemical may be used for a concentration solution if solved in water and fille dup to 250 ml. For usage dilute 1+3. (That means the chemicals give 1 Litre). |

Agfa/Orwo 100 - Normal Print developer
Metol 26 Sodium sulphite (anhyd) 26g Hydroquinone 6g Sodium Carbonate (anhyd) 52g Potassium Bromde 2g Water to 1 litre Use 1+3 develop fo 1 to 2 mins I have 3 different copies of the book, the last is Orwo Rezepts by then they were using Phenidone. It's better to use Phenidone as PQ developers have a longer tray life and capacity than MQ and work better at lower temperatures. Ian |
