If it's going for a reasonable price, I would buy it.
I fancy buying a De-Vere 504 one day if the price is right.

Have a look at this one Keith. Seems to be a reasonable price to me.

If you look in their price list it is going for £149. The list is alphabetical and it is at the end of the D's, just above the heading Ensign.

Getting it to you may be another problem.

Seriously Keith get one, best photographic move I ever made paid £500 and a round trip of 600 miles to get mine and have NEVER regretted it. Have neg masks for everything from 35mm to 5x4 so no matter what camera I pick up can print the results and the under base board control wheels are a godsend as the arthritus in the shoulders is starting to bite.

I would use a 504 solely for 5x4 negatives, preferably one with an Ilford 500H. I'm not ready to buy one just yet though.
Thanks Bill and Paul,

I, too, think that the Multigrade 500H is brilliant. I have no experience of failures of the power box but I looked at the technical manual and it is not complicated - it ought to be very straightforward to repair and problems are not likely to be found in the huge transformer, which is conservatively engineered. The triacs could fail but are easily replaced. Best fit 150W lamps to run the whole system cooler.
