Default Mamiya Lens Shutter Repairs

I have now had 2 Mamiya RB67 lenses separately repaired by Black on White - http://www.bonwcameras.co.uk/

I will be sending any of my Mamiya or LF lenses in need of TLC to them.

I found them reasonably priced and gave a list of all the items checked and adjusted when I had my lenses CLA'd

The turn-around time was about 3 weeks for each lens.

I originally approached Newton and Ellis in Liverpool but they seemed rather reluctant to tackle Mamiya lenses with in-built shutters and have a rough quote of about twice as much as BoW actually charged.

Thanks Martin.
I've been checking over my Mamiya TLR kit and find I have an 80mm lens with sticky aperture ring, and my 250 has the first specks of fungus in it!
Sounds like I now know where to send them.

Thanks for the link and favourable review Martin, I have a TLR lens that could do with some tlc.

I have just got my Icon Nettar 6x6 back from Newton & Ellis, just had it CLA'd. I found them to be great and the turn around was two week's. Its come back like a new Camera.

I just today posted my Kodak Retinnette of to them for the same, as the shutter is sticking at slower speeds.

Hi mate

I think you mis-understand me

I am not saying Newton and Ellis = bad

and

Black on White = good

Sorry if it came over this way.

What I am saying is Black on White = very good for Mamiya

When I get round to getting my OM1 serviced I will be sending it to Newton and Ellis for a CLA.

Martin

I've used B on W in Bristol a few times over aperiod od around 15 years and found them to be excellent. They've rebuilt two Rolleiflex cameras for me and serviced a Yashicamat plus some LF lenses.
