Default FX40 shelf life

Would anyone know the shelf life of the Fotospeed FX40 Alkali Fix stock solution once opened?

Thanks,

I would think that the shelf life would be indefinate like standard fixers,I have never used the Fotospeed product but I have used other alkali fixers and have never had problems storing the concentrate.

I currently using Fotospeed FX30 Odourless fixer 5L which I've had for about 2.5 years and I'm almost coming to the end of my big bottle, these last drops are as good as the day I first opened it.

Is FX40 the correct product name as I believe they now only list FX20 and FX30?

Anyway, if your worried you can always decant into smaller bottles to help remove the air to aid keeping qualities.

Alkaline fixers last longer than acidic ones: it's the acid that decomposes the thiosulphate despite the efforts of the sulphite to preserve it.
