Darkroom giveaway
I used to be a regular poster on this forum but the loss of a suitable darkroom space led me away to other interests (drawing and painting to be precise). Now is the time to let my enlarger go and I would like to see it have a new lease of life so if you are prepared to come and collect it from my house (about six miles west of Newcastle upon Tyne) you can have it for free. I was given it for nothing so it only seems fair.
It is a DURST M670 colour enlarger which I have used for 35mm and 6 x 6 negatives. It has El-Nikkor enlarging lenses 50 and 75 mm. It is also wired up to a fairly old Isgus clockwork enlarger timer. The following are also available if you want them; 12 x 16” easel (two blades) Jessops safelight and spare bulb Paterson focus finder Paterson developing tank /reel for 35 and 120 film. I hate to see good quality photographic equipment gather dust through lack of use, but I am up to my elbows in good enlargers and have nowhere to to put any more. I wish you luck in getting a new owner. If I did want it I am suited to collect 'cos I live in Durham
Have you tried Newcastle University? Most universities have some sort of camera club, perhaps they would be glad to take it off your hands. |

The enlarger is now with an arts centre in Newcastle, having put it on the 'Freecycle' website. I immediately had four people in the area asking if they could have it. I also thought about putting it on e-bay and saw that similar enlargers have recently sold for ~£100. The demand is there but I am glad my kit is going to be in a community darkroom.

Did the other equipment go with the enlarger ? If you still have the masking frame I'd be interested. I'm on the western edge of Newcastle myself.
