I used a lot of FP3 Mike, but had to move on limited resources as a teenager, so only bought what I'd use
FP3 was a surprisingly good film, introduced first as plates in 1941, the major difference was FP4 had excellent hardening, FP3 was a softer emulsion and would easily reticulate if temperatures weren't tightly controlled. When FP3 was released Kodak's equivalent new generation o9f modern style films Panatomic X, Plus X, Double X and Tri-X were quite new and way behind, in terms of fine grain and sharpness, Ian |
