Bags for DD/Slides etc,
I always store my d/slides in ordinary ZipLoc bags to keep out the dust but have they can be a bit of pain to close.
Just started using this type that are new to me. Found these 6'x9 ones on eBay from RKS PLASTICS at £11.57 for 50 delivered, they are really strong and easy to use in the field. Handy for other bits too. JON.

Very useful info Jon. I keep mine in plastic boxes that neatly hold 5 DDS each and provide mechanical protection but that looks like an excellent option for the odd spare or for a belt-and-braces approach.

Potential condensation problem?

I use sainsbury's resealable sandwich bags for mine, but i'll look into these ones as mine are pretty easy to rip or otherwise knacker (snagged on zips) when shoving em into a tightly packed camera bag.
I don't see any chance of a condensation problem. |

As an extention to this posting I would like to add, I have found a bag to hold 5x7 dark slides. John Lewis folding cooller bag £6. If you put in 3 dark slides, you can velco it up. can hold about 6 dark slides.

Just an update on this, I have added RKS plastics mentioned above in the links section for anybody who finds this link, as I did and wanted to order the bags.

They are useful bags (I bought some), but they are slippery little blighters!

I use those clip and lock food boxes for my 5x4's. The ones you get in Lakeland (Lock & Lock?) I find best - their catches are much more pliable and resilient, than your cheaper supermarket offerings.
I band the DDS's together with a really large chunky rubber band, so they don't move against each other and just to keep them still in transit, I've lined the bottom of the boxes with rubber off the back of an old mousemat. They stay still, no problems at all; no static problems either. The boxes are so tough they can easily support plenty of stuff being dumped on top of them, yeah they are bulkier than the DDSs on their own, but the protection provided is well worth it. Phil |
