And arrived yesterday although I didn't find them on the outer front porch floor till last night.

Two prints in window mounts! One of a dead tree in his own garden and the other one of some rock outcrops near the sea shore taken at just the right slow shutter speed so that there is still some tonal variation giving a real impression of movement in the surrounding sea. The dead tree is taken on 4×5 so that there is a lot of detail in the branches although these are bleached and the negative printed to emphasize the whiteness of the branches.

I do like them.

Thanks, Mike

My apologies for the late post.

First, thank Mike. The print I meant for the exchange was the dead trees. I threw the second in because I was looking for some feed-back on it. I was quite pleased when I took it, but wonder if there's just too much empty space particularly lower left. The toning brings up some texture in the water but it's still quite subtle.

Next, many thanks to MartyNL for a really beautiful pair of prints. It's the same image (of a Cumbrian Church interior) on two different papers. One is Ilford warm-tone fibre, which I'm quite familiar with. The0 second is on Adox Lupex paper. It's a chloride contact paper, so very slow. Marty manged to persevere and make an enlargement from his 6x12 negative.
The two renderings are quite different. The Ilford WT is really lovely, whilst the Adox is cooler in tone and the shadows look rather more 'open'.
Marty, I hope you don't mind but my better half wants to frame and hang one of these. Is that OK?
One again, many thanks for the prints.

Naturally, Colin, I'd be honoured.
Best wishes to your "better half'.

Put the other print that you wanted feedback on into the gallery Skellum and for starters, I'll definitely look at it and give feedback.

I find it a shame when secondary prints are mentioned and then not put in the gallery...

As the recipient of both prints, I second that.

Terry, Mike-
If there's interest I'd happily post the second image. However, I threw it in as a last minute call so I don't think I have a scan of Print 2.
What I'll do is check if I have any 'work' prints of this image. If not I'll make a new version when I go in to print my October contribution and post it to the discussion gallery.
Cheers!.

I have scanned and posted skellum's second print (with his agreement) in the Exchange Gallery.

Please could a Mod. alter the authorship/poster designation and delete the relevant bit in the post in the photo description.

Thanks, Mike
