With the Dartmoor dos we are usually based in a hotel but I will admit sometimes we eat in a pub, and it has been known for some of the party to have the odd alcoholic drink to see the food down I have tried having a word with them, so they can save themselves for the challenges of the moor, but you know what photographers are like when they meet up

More images from the last trip will immerge shortly I am sure. I have developed most of my negatives and am hoping to get printing soon so I can take some mounted images along to the next Dartmoor do which happens over the weekend of January 20/21/22.

If you have not booked now would be a good time to make the decision

Just to show we do use the cameras on these trips here are a few neg scans.

Neil.

Good news. A good friend of mine, a very keen landscape photographer Petr Obermajer (also known as "bobr") will fly in from Czech Republic to join us for this trip to Dartmoor. He's already booked in at the Riverside Inn. So, I hope we manage to convince him to join FADU as well

I have only just finished my prints from Cornwall taken in October. The Dartmoor prints will be printed soon and you might get to see them if you attend next month Rob.

Hopefully, I will be able to make it there again for January 2012 if I can arrange for things to be taken care of at home. BTW, it will also be a darned good excuse to go to the pubs.

Leo,

I look forward to meeting Petr (bobr) in January. If it has to be in a Bovey Tracey bar - so be it

Neil.

Hmm, what about the Two Bridges Hotel where we usually repair to after the effort of rambling up to Wistman's Wood?

I know it is a 40 minute walk (down hill ) on the way back but I have noticed some Jail Ales get downed whilst looking at Chris Chapman's wonderful prints http://www.chrischapmanphotography.com/

I always liked the Forest Inn at Hexworthy. There's an easy to photograph Tor very close (Combestone Tor), Hexworthy Bridge and the river at the bottom of the hill and some beautiful very old dartmoor farm houses at the end of the dead end lane that passes the forest inn. All walkable from the Inn or a very short drive.
