Never have the need to use any of these "communications" formats and my sentiments on them reflect Tony Marlow's views

Never seen any need for them, and I know a few people who have had a lot of bother with them. Letters, telephones, text messaging, e-mail. Just how many means of communication do we need? I even talk to my neighbour over the garden fence - now there's technology for you!

I use twitter for photography stuff, but only use facebook for friends and family.

It amazes me the number of photographers who merrily upload all their work to facebook, presumably blissfully unaware that in doing so you are granting facebook licence to use and sell your photos for advertising purposes, for which, should they do it, you would see no money from.

I am not to mad on modern technology also ,but saying that I have a website that is constantly getting a lot of hits ,all I did was put my website address on east end and Essex related sites on the internet as I could ,at the moment I am getting total page views 80186 and total photo views 55589 .
and my link to FADU is ten clicks
people are viewing my website from all around the world from Russia to America ,all the images on my site are scanned from prints , on Ilford or Kentmere paper and the film is mostly Ilford with a dash Kodak .....

Default The Future

I can't say I'm a huge fan of it either but alas our analogue only world is gone, and its never ever coming back so it would be prudent not to be ignorant, incompetent or both regarding new technology. We don't have to like it but nothing is stopping us from using the tools fit for a purpose. The whole point of my simple questions was not to draw out the negative but find out whom ( and there are many who have contacted me directly ) are vibrant in the use of, and understanding of how we might use new methods of communication to advance our output and reach regarding our much loved analogue photography. The new "kids" on the block have only ever known a digital world and thats how they communicate and if we want to bring in these people then we have to put up or shut up regarding what communication systems we use. The more of the "digital" lot that we suck into buying film and enjoying photography the better. Now the point in the question was to see who might have some influence on-line to help "YOU" sell some of your work on-line. Hence the final question. Who would like to see if they can sell some of there work. For me, a pat on the back never amounted to anything and praise from friends and family is never anything more than polite. If you want to find out how good your work is, offer it to the market. So. How fancy s putting their ego down for while and testing the ground?

I use Twitter, though not very well (post links to new photos I've finished, new blog posts, occasional "work in progress" things, or very quick things which wouldn't warrant a full-on blog post, tend to be bad about engaging with others though which doesn't help).

Facebook too, though I keep that for close friends/family things since they're scattered all over the place. I use FB messaging to keep in touch with my mum and brother, since it doesn't cost anything compared to texting internationally which can get spendy. I don't use it much.

Do have a FB page for my photo stuff but their most recent attempt to change the T&Cs (the latest of many) has me wondering if I really need it any more. OTOH I don't see Clyde Butcher or Joe McNally fleeing from it...

Also do have a LinkedIn but I don't often use it. I tend to keep that more for my day job though (I.T. industry, God 'elp me...)
