Smile First Prints done

After many months of collecting equipment and temporarily converting my bathroom into a darkroom I finally made my first prints ......... then I gave them away before I scanned them to show off

I wasn't disappointed the magic of watching the image appear and the frustrations of all the failures (10) to get the 1st good print

Desperately wanting to print more Erik

Well done Erik - it's a nice bug to be bitten by!
You'll soon find that frustration makes way to resigned frustration with the occasional whoop of triumph
Nah, seriously, printing is a wonderful way to while away a few hours/days

Even after all these years, whenever I think I'll just spend an hour or so in the back bedroom (sorry, darkroom) I find that several hours have disappeared without me realising it.
Enjoy your printing, Erik.

Welcome! It's a great feeling, isn't it? Nothing quite beats being able to point to a print and think "LOOK! I MADE A THING!"

You wait it won't be long until it's ten good ones and one in the bin.

I considered turning my back bedroom into a darkroom but then had the opportunity to use our rennovated cellar. It's a good job, otherwise I don't know what I'd have done with the host of cheap bedframes we've collected from Zen Bedroom. They're very important - or so my wife tells me. She's something of a hoarder.

Things have moved on slowly but surely and I know have a Darkroom / shed in the garden. It took many more months to complete than I anticipated and personal issues have made simple jobs last much longer than they should, but I agree Ian the magic doesn't wear off and I try and spread the magic amongst my local camera club as often as I can

I use our spare (tiny) bedroom. No running water but as someone said in another thread (roughly) a bucket or two of water will suffice.
