Default New addition Durst L1200 CLS 501

I've been on the lookout and couldn't refuse this mint example. The seller, a man close to his 90's, showed me the receipt when he bought it new for over fl.11,000 Dutch guilders, for recreational use.
It only came as a 4x5" set-up complete with a Schneider Componon S 150, as he had another smaller durst for smaller formats. It hasn't been used for well over 10 years and I've just cleaned it up, ready to install. It will be joining the Multigraph, VLS 501 and B+W as the last of a line up.
I can't wait to give it a try!

It looks great, Martin. It’s good to find an example that has been well cared for. A lot of them will have had a busy life.

These enlargers are getting harder and harder to find, so well done in saving another one from the scrap heap!

I use mine with the Ilford MG500 setup....just love it!

I used a Durst Laborator 138 with an Agfa head in Germany in 1969. The condensers were problematic because we only had one enlarger and we had to either wait for a test or final to be processed before putting the next job up or constantly swapping condensers when changing formats. We changed to the Durst diffuser head as soon as it came out. It had huge lamps and rapidly warmed up the tiny unventilated darkroom.
