Default UV Meter

I went for a snoop round my local 99 pence store and found a UV meter, There is not that much sun around today It only shows a reading of 1 on a 1 to 8 scale. I wonder if it is worth keeping to test the strength of my UV lamp I use to expose my alt process stuff?
