Default Nova Monochrome Processor

Tried the 12x10 Nova Monochrome Processor last night for the first time. For my limited space it's perfect for the job. What I noticed very early on in the darkroom last night was the lack of smells in comparison to using trays, down to the smaller surface to air no doubt and the fact I can pop the cap on the processor when not in use.
A nice bit of kit.

Jon,
Good to hear your Nova processor is a success in your darkroom. Many of us here use them and appreciate how well designed and useful they are.

Neil.

Hi Jon,

As a 12x16 processor user, I cannot agree more. And, although I empty it at the end of each printing sesion, the fact that I don't have to tilt the chemicals from a flumsy try into the bottle has saved my life

Cheers

Glad to hear it suits Jon.

Aren't you lucky to be able to purchase your darkroom supplies here at the Aladdins cave just down the road in Penryn

As a Nova processor man myself I'd have been suprised if you had not been pleased.

You mention a 12x10 processor. Do you mean a 12 x16? If not then I had no idea that Nova did a 12x10 size between its 8 x10 and 12 x 16.

Mike

I couldn't agree more about the Nova processors. They may not be cheap even secondhand but worth every penny in my opinion. In fact, I wouldn't go back to trays.

I have an older style trimate and the biggest issue I have are the clips which are ridiculously expensive but quite vital.

Just curious, has anyone got any suggestions or tried and had success with an alternative to the official clips?

In my experience which spans over 20 years with Novas I have not come up with anything to replace the Nova clips. But like you I would be interested to hear of anything thing that does the job just as well.

They do last a long time though and I have only ever had one break (snapped in half) which I think must have been a manufacturing fault, but this was after a lot of years of use. I currently have 10 clips and they get use every time we go into the darkroom. I find it best to give them a good clean every now and again with an over-night soak in diluted household bleach to keep them operating smoothly.
