Default Just arrived

Came across this site while looking for something, can't even remember what now...

I am of an age where I started with film, moved to digital and have now seen the light and returned to film.

I did do some darkroom dabbling when my dad was alive, now almost 20 years ago, but have not really done anything since. I attended a one day workshop in the Liverpool area last year (Lightbox Darkroom). And, recently I have been gifted an enlarger and lots of other related equipment that I hope to drive from my home in NW Scotland to Somerset to collect before the end of the year.

I'm already absorbed in some of the articles and posts here, I guess I might never find everything of interest without getting distracted.

Welcome aboard!

NW Scotland to Somerset is quite a drive - I'd be inclined to combine it with a long-weekend of photography!

Distraction is the curse/gift of the Internet

Have fun, Bob.

Welcome to FADU. It can be the case that you will pick up a lot of info by just browsing but feel free to ask away when required. Best of luck with your drive to the West Country, most of which will be in darkness unfortunately.

I loved night driving yesterday, sorry yesteryear( time flies) , when in my 20s but not in my xx0s

Default Many thanks

for the welcome.

I quite like driving, apart from the bit of the M6 between Preston and the M5 turning - done that stretch in another life far too often...

I have a few film cameras, both 35mm and MF. I inherited a Mamiya RZ67 and a Yashica MAT 124G from my dad. This spring I was gifted a Mamiya C220 from Canadian friends and I picked that up on my travels through Spring/Summer. I used Minolta MC/MD lenses on my Sony so found a Minolta XD-7, then another, then a SRT101, then a XD-5; I also have an original Canonet from 1961 - temperamental, but does work and I just took ownership of a FED 2e.

I've been doing all my own B&W film dev, and have a C41 kit on the way to process the last 7 undeveloped colour films I have ready to go. Hope that turns out ok, as they are from a trip I made this last Summer...

I'm still a bit ambivalent about colour, and will probably focus on B&W through 2019 with an aim to do more printing of my own. Produce less work, but hopefully better work...
