Hi from Plymouth, UK (the Original One).
Hi All,
Just a few words to introduce myself, I have been involved with photography since 1979 and was a Professional Social Photographer for a number of those years using mainly Hasselblad 500CM and Nikon outfits and specialised in hand printing my images for both weddings and portrait sittings. With the advent of digital I decided to give up photography as an occupation and began working for the local water company. I sold my Hasselblad Cameras & lenses and bought a Nikon D100 Digital Body to use with my assortment of Nikon lenses, this I used with a D70 and D200 up until the summer of 2008 when I traded it all in to fund a Canon 5D full frame camera along with a couple of L lenses (if only I had known the D700 was just around the corner). I then went through a spate of buying and trying various Canon bodies and lenses until I ended up with a Canon 1DsMk3 with 6 assorted L lenses, but there was always something missing and I traded a Canon 100mm L Macro for a Hasselblad 500CM outfit. I had discovered film again. At the beginning of spring this year I started selling off my Canon kit and increasing my Hasselblad Outfit until I had a couple of bodies and half a dozen Zeiss lenses for it and then an opportunity came along I could not refuse, a almost mint condition Hasselblad H1D with a 22MP Imacon Ixpress 528C back and 80mm lens. This meant that if I bought it the Canon outfit had to go, and so it did. I then sold my V system outfit (well most of it) to enable the purchase of 35mm and 150mm HC lenses for the H1 to complete my Holy Trinity. To cover the loss of my small format Digital Outfit I started buying cheap 35mm film equipment from ebay. I now have a 6x Body Olympus outfit with a few Zuiko lenses and a Pentax LX and Super A with a few Pentax SMC lenses. I have also picked up a couple of 16/32 film backs to use with the H1. I am really looking forward to getting involved with film again but whilst I will be processing my own mono film 35mm & 120, I will not be wet printing them, I shall be scanning them and then using Photoshop CS5 to process them prior to printing digitally. Bit of a long post and if any of you are still awake I commend you on your resilience. |

Hello and welcome to the forum Ed.
Sure you can't be persuaded to get a darkroom up and running..?

Thanks, I am looking forward to seeing what other people do with their film images too. Does anyone here use Fluid Mounting for their scans? I got the Fluid Mounting Kit from Epson but have not got around to using it yet. One other thing, I am looking for a reasonably priced film dryer, I think I can justify that to my wife and keep it in a corner of my dining room (part time studio) so if anyone knows of one I would certainly be interested. |

Many of us here have a foot in both camps, as it were, but here is not the place to talk about fluid mounting for scans. (There are some rules on the front page) I may well have a drying cabinet available sometime in November, let me know if you're interested. Could be tricky to get to Plymouth though. |

I could well be interested in your drying cabinet but it could well depend on your whereabouts. There is quite a nice one on ebay at the moment but it is in Leeds. Such is life. |
