Another Perceptol question!
To the specialists out there:
What is the minimum amount of Perceptol per film needed when diluting 1+3? I think I read somewhere 200 ml? Thanks folks! Last edited by mono; 25th January 2010 at 07:49 PM. |

Folker. Good question especially if you want to use rotary processing. It's one I have asked in the other Perceptol thread in a roundabout way so that two of us looking for an answer. I think you are suggesting that it is 200ml at 1+3 so 50ml of stock solution which would indeed mean that the 35ml stock for rotary wouldn't be enough and the tank would need 200ml for 1+3 rotary processing which is still a saving on the 250ml needed for inversion.

no I don't know what the minimum amount of dev required is.
On this occasion you will have to engage your initiative and trial it yourself. You might compare kodak verses ilford given dilutions and make an educated guess.

I seem to recall that Ilford would recommend a minimum of 100ml stock per 35mm film in Perceptol, so that full density was preserved. I think this came from an old copy of the “The Ilford Manual of Photography”.
But in practise I have not had problems with 2 films (HP5) in 100ml + 300ml water; using Ilford recommended agitation and exposed at 320asa. David. |
