Default Newton Ellis

I was just wondering if anybody has had any experience with a camera repairers called Newton Ellis in Liverpool. I understand they service and repair all film cameras as well as digital SLR's.

One of my Nikon's appears to need some attention. I was thinking of sending it down to Nikon UK originally, but as Liverpool is literally just up the motorway from where I live, I thought Newton Ellis may be an alternative as I would be happier dealing face to face.

Any thoughts or experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

I've no direct experience of them, but have seen favourable comments from others. Do a search for "Newton Ellis" of this forum and you should uncover previous similar discussions.

Thanks. Yes you're right, Newton Ellis has been mentioned and recommended by one or two other members. At least Liverpool is only around an hours drive or thereabouts.

I can confirm that they do a good job and recommend them. I had my Nikon 'S' serviced and new blinds fitted.

Had my Sigma 105mm repaired after my Minolta stripped the gears.
Good service and price seemed competitive at £60 a year or two ago.
And it was good to actually speak to someone face to face and check the repair before leaving the shop.

I can also confirm they do a good job. They serviced a Voigtlander for me and were recommended to me by Leitz in Luton.

They do a good job but call first, unless you are not worried about 4 or 5 weeks turn around.

You would have cause to worry if they were cheap.
