TriFCA 35 film
I recently found some TriFCA 35 mm film in a thrift shop. I wanted to do some research before using it but I can't seem to find any information about it, you can find TriFCA 120 on ebay and other stores and they all seem to be expired film from the 70's made by a company called "Film Corporation of America".
Does anyone have any experience with this film and/or has any idea how old my roll of film might be? |

There was a previous thread about this which should show up if you do a search on the forum. I used it in the 70's, and I doubt that it made it far into the 80's. The film was printed at 3 different sizes when you returned it for the dedicated processing. The actual film, however, will produce normal sized 35mm negatives, although I'm not sure if it's compatible with C41 colour chemistry.

TriFCA was repackaged motion picture negative film with a remjet backing. From memory it was unused short ends bought from film studios.
It wasn't C22 or C41 compatible. Ian |

You could try asking nik & trick, as they sell various unusual films.
ntphotoworks.com In addition, fotostation.co.uk claim to be able to process it. Last edited by Michael; 9th February 2017 at 09:55 PM. Reason: last para. |

I used this stuff-
sent it back to Trifca who produced a print carrying one large version of the image and two 'mini-prints' attached. It was a gimmick, but I do recall giving people the little copies as souvenirs. Quality was good, and the 'silk' version of the prints had a nice lustre. Never knew it was movie film (I was only about 12) |

I may still have some TriFCA prints somewhere, quality was at best OK but poor at times. I never used he film myself but my mother and youngest sister did and I have (or had) all their negatives and prints.
Initially they may well have been sourcing film from a variety of companies, despite their name they appear to have been a UK company, their later film boxes stated it was made here as well. In the 1970's there was only one UK company who could possibly have supplied them colour film in 35mm, 126,127, & 120 sizes - Kodak Ltd. Their PO Box address Post Code is a post WWII estate in Chelmsford. Ian |
