Hi ye all,
Thank you very much for welcoming me so nicely. Just a few more personal information. Since I inherited a Minolta X700 from my father, I make photographs on film. In my student days I was able to share a darkroom with two friends. Later on came big pause, but I am back to photography since 2004. Always and only on film. I have a good film scanner, but of course I would like to share my new works on paper here and have to think about how to do it now. Other hobbies are music, chess and hiking. At least the latter I can nicely combine with photography. Please forgive any mistakes in this beautiful language. I am not a native English speaker. Frank |

Hi Frank,
X700, do you still have it and use it ? If so nice to hear from someone else who uses Minolta. X300 or Dynax my 35mm cameras of choice. My original X300 was bought about 30 years ago I still have it and still use it. Ian

Hi Ian,
Yes, I used my X-700 in my last holiday, hiking near the Alps. I have also a X-300, which I once bought for my mother, when she showed some interest in film photography. My favourite Minolta body is the XD7 (or XD11 in the US), so I have this one, too. The most impressive lens by Minolta in my bag is the 24mm/1:2.8. Brilliant! Hi Miha, I am working in a translation company. Therefore I am sensitized on the importance of the mother tongue. There can be quite some misunderstandings between native and non-native speakers. By the way, my English colleagues think that English is an endangered language. Frank |

Do you think your colleagues might consider Latin as a replacement; it's known as a "dead language", presumably because it will likely never change, thus ruling out the possibility of becoming endangered? I studied Latin for two years in Grades 11 and 12 (U.S. system), so if it returns I'll have a chance to survive if I can recall any of it. |

Latin is a language
As dead as dead can be, it killed off the Romans, And now it's killing me..... I had to study Latin. Does my struggle with it show? I think I will stick to English. |
