Default hi from darkest Suffolk

Hi everyone, having just joined I am prompted to give you a few details about myself.

I've just retired and having spent the vast majority of my working life in a profession which left little room for artistic thoughts I sold up and started a photographic portrait and wedding business which is what I've did until February when I decided to retire totally.

The professional photography was super and I enjoyed every minute of it but it was totally digital for commercial reasons so looking for someway of continuing my love of photography but starting something different I've bought myself a Zorki 4 35mm and dug out my Bronica ETRsi MF and am really enjoying the experience.

I've developed a few of my 35mm films even in the confines of our narrowboat which we are spending our time on and am now looking to get back to darkroom printing (not on the narrowboat!) after a gap of 50 odd years.

If there is anyone on the forum that is in this part of the world (Waveney Valley) do let me know and perhaps we could meet for a natter.

David

Hi and welcome David. The great thing about a narrowboat this time of year is that if you are moored out in the country film developing might be possible with even normal curtains. We urban dwellers have forgotten just how dark the countryside can be as winter approaches.

If you ever find yourself north of the boarder (Norfolk), there are a few up here that occasionally meet for shooting & beer.

Very true Mike although we have come ashore now for the winter - mainly because as they do all the repairs during the winter the ability to move around is somewhat restricted
