Default Rob from West Sussex

Hi, I am a beginner. I have started developing my black and white films, then scanning them, and am fairly pleased with my results. Some time ago I bought an enlarger and darkroom equipment very cheap on ebay. But I have to sort out a few things before I am ready to try making some prints. I have to admit I am a bit daunted by this next step as it seems there is an awful lot to learn. In the future I will have a lot of questions to ask , hopefully to get a few pointers to get underway.

Well done Rob and welcome. It can't be as hard as you think otherwise I'd have never managed it.

It might be worth getting a few good books second-hand if you haven't done so but plenty of time for that.

We are here to help

Mike

Thank you, I have got several books second hand ,giving so much information, I don't really know where to start. When I first developed my films I read the Ilford leaflet "How to process your first film"(very handy) but haven't found anything that is as simple to help me produce my first prints.. What I'm hoping to do is set up a temporary darkroom in the spare room, which could then be converted back to a usable room for guests if needed..

Hi Rob. I'm sure Ilford did a similar leaflet about printing. It might be available online at their website. Basic printing with resin coated paper is easy. Once you get the hang of it you won't look back.

Welcome to the forum Rob. Have a look at the Ilford web site, there is a wealth of information especially under the Products tab and in the fact sheets with each paper. That should give you the basics then ask about anything you are not sure of. Somebody will help.
