I'm looking forward to Xmas as I chose my own presents for the family to give me - a 250mm lens for an RZ67 "from" my wife and "The Camera" and "The Print" by Ansel from the kids. Mind you I paid for them as well.

Merry Xmas to everyone

Bah Humbug

I read last night that Scrooge as created by Dickens was inspired by a misinterpretation of a grave stone which was actually Scroogie who was a Scottish Mealman (grain dealer) and not Scrooge Meanman as Dickens read it. There's hope for Scotsmen yet but it can't all be the fault of Dickens surely.

The Radio Times is not putting an Image of Santa on its cover this year incase it offends some minority sect or is interpreted as being over indulgent in a time of austerity. The Animal rights people are having a go at treatment of Reindeers (they taste good and are reportedly inhumanely slaughtered). I never quite understood the Reindeer thing, they aren't exactly indigenous to Jerusalem unless I missed something. And Saint Nick comes from somwhere in Turkey and is part of Greek culture and nothing to do with the North Pole if I'm not mistaken and I don't think the Reindeer population is upto much there either. So quite what this Christmas thing is all about just plain mystifies me.

And from Lawrenceville Georgia USA, from my fiance Alicia and I!

I just took some digisnaps of the tree but I suppose they aren't allowed here. What the heck, we've been wrapping presents until one in the morning anyway so I didn't even manually focus them and the autofocus didn't like the low light.
