Default MF 6x7 Negs - what enlarging lens.

I was wondering what enlarging lens people choose for their 6x7 negs.

I have been using an 80 but wonder is 105 might not be better ?

I am not limited by the 80mm lenses image circle.

I was wondering about the experience/preferences of others and why they chose one over the other ?

Martin

Martin,

For 6x7 I use a 90mm or 105mm but I have also used an 80mm without any problems.

The 90mm or 105mm has the advantage of giving you a little more enlarger height which is sometimes useful.

Neil.

When I had my Mamiya RZ I used an 80mm Componon S which was superb.

I generally use the Componon-S 100mm f/5.6 for 6x7cm negatives.

I have a Rodagon non apo 80/F4 and it will cover 6x7 without any problem. A 105 will do the same but will to some extent limit the degree of enlargement you can make.

My Rokkor CE 80 mm f5.6 is listed as being capable of 6x7 but I only use it for 6x6.

I have used my 80mm lens for 6x7 and my 50mm for 6x6.
