Exclamation our rights

Just went onto BJP's excellent blog 1854.eu. today they have the winner of the Press Photographer 2008. Anthony Saua's shot of a police officer, gun drawn, going through an empty property. With the new anti terrorism law coming in force in this country, you would probably be arrested! Our lot certainly wouldn't allow a press photographer to follow them about as in this photo shot.
It beggars belief that photographing the Police can be seen as an act of terrorism. How Long before it's a crime to take a photo anywhere!

We need to be like Andy Stewart's "Scottish Soldier" " There was none bolder with good broad shoulder" etc. Remember the lines? He asks as he invokes the memory of the great Andy while committing the sacrilege of drinking wine as he does it . The White Heather Club will be paying me a visit as they say .

Seriously it is only by taking perfectly legal shots in public places and politely but firmly defending our rights do to do that we will turn the tide.

I am often struck by the similarities between George Orwells’ book 1984 and our current situation.

Just substitute Orwells’ Ministry of Love for the current Home Office

As the saying goes “The road to hell is paved with good intentions”
