Default Hello from Steveb

Its about time that I introduced myself, having joined the forum in August of 2009. I have owed more cameras than I have taken good photos, blad 6x6, Mamiya 7, Nikon fm3a, D80 and D300. Always chasing the camera that would make or take great snaps and petrified I would drop them. I really didn't know where I was going. (Am I alone, I dont think so!)
Then I bought a Nikon f75 for £26.50p stuck a 50mm f1.8 on the front and strapped it round my neck with a piece of string. I kept the D300, flogged the rest and pocketed the money. I built a darkroom in my 5' x 11' shed and filled it with a Durst 138 bought for £68 from a pro in Bath. Then I built a Neretta 5x4 with the help of Sandeha (see friends)Result happiness on the cheap with a roll of HP5. Why 35mm? Well I met a guy called Vincent at the middle England FADU meeting, saw his photos and thought "that will work for me." 5X4 needs no explanation.
I still struggle to take a good photograph but seem to be a lot happier trying!!! I live in Rugby.

Hello Steve and I enjoyed reading your introduction. You can never own enough cameras

Hello Steve - welcome.
I love HP5+ - didn't Bob Carlos Clark make a point of shooting an entire roll of it each day ? Bliss.
Best wishes
Roger

Hi and welcome neighbour. I think you're the closest neighbour I have on FADU.

That's quite a saga. Welcome from down under, well away from your snow. Not that our summer is anything to write home about.

Hi Steve and welcome to Fadu, You can never have enough cameras, I have to many, or so my better half says, even though she got me another for christmas, and heaven is indeed a roll of hp5, followed closely by a few hours in the darkroom,Richard
