Larry,
I have been matting my prints with black mats for ever, I like the look,I tend to print full frame on 91/2x12, which with 6x6 means my actual print is around 8x8 as I like a big white border around my print,matted with 16x20 black board, I think a smaller print is great, I prefer them for my own work than a large,(say 12x16), and although I have tried both grey and white mountboard I aleays come back to black.
