North Norfolk
Hi all,
Have just booked a family break in North Norfolk, just round the corner from Hunstanton (Holme Next the Sea), which is not a million miles from home, but have not been that way for years. I have no idea how much chance I'll get to take photo's. Hopefully will have time to do a little bit of beach photography, along with an historic house or two. I know that a couple of members live in this general area, think they might be Rob and Paul, have they or anyone else got any secret places that time and family permitting would be well worth a visit ? Thanks Ian

Several "quaint" little villages out that way, but it has been a long time since I've been out to that bit of Norfolk.
One thing I would say - If you are taking children of any age out on to the beaches, watch the tides. The wide expanses of sand looks safe and tempting, but the sea comes in fast and there are nasty undercurrents. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/ukne...rous-tide.html |

Lots of very attractive churches in North Norfolk, including one which still has mediaeval wall paintings

I went to north Norfolk a couple of years ago. If you like photographing inside churches there are plenty of opportunities because rural churches are often open. Quite a few have mediaevel paintings - catch them while you can...

Thornham Harbour, Hunstanton beach & Cliffs, Brancaster Staithe, Creake Abbey and Binham Priory are some of my favourites. As Les Dix says, we have loads of amazing old churches, many of them ruined and highly photogenic. We've also got more than our fair share of windmills. Bircham Windmill is well worth a visit - if only for the fantastic tea room! Send me a PM and if I'm free one day I'll give you a taster tour!

Thank you all for your replies, most informative.
Rob, will speak to my "other half" about your kind offer. Ian

We've just come back from a week in Burnham Deepdale camping and we've had a fabulous time. I took the RB67 and rolls of FP4+ and shot no end of superb photographs of my favourite subjects, old boats and salt marshes. None of my work is allowed here though as I scan my negatives and produce digital prints from silver halide films.

I would have thought a scanned negative would be alright here, what do the administrators think?
