Hi Marty
I have two undrilled matching lens boards which I do not wish to spoil, if I can find a 'gold' Schneider lens I may use one of the blanks, I do not intend to use the Gandolfi much as I have more versatile alternatives, the Gandolfi came with a 5x4 spring back for modern 5x4 DDS and a quarter plate back with 3 DDS (made especially as Gandolfi had ceased production of DDS years before this outfit was made) and a Gandolfi tripod all in matching teak (Gandolfi tripods are normally supplied painted black) this one was made specially to match the outfit.

It's certainly one of, if not THE prettiest camera sets I've ever seen and I'm sure the results will match the workmanship.

I know what you mean about versatility. I chose Linhof and while I'm by no means disappointed by the craftsmanship and functionality there's still something about wood that feels more natural, unique and individual.

Default Gandolfi

A 4x5 Gandolfi is currently £26 pounds on ebay and I am very interested in buying it. Having just found this chat about them I think it is well worth the money. Can I post the link on here for your views on it? I will need a lens to.
