Default 105mm filters

I am on the verge of buying a 40mm PS lens for my Bronica SQa but the filter size is 105mm and I'm not having a lot of luck sourcing a MC Filter to fit. I can get resin filters from the likes of SRB, but I would prefer a MC glass one if I can find a reasonably priced, unscratched, used one. Even a Cokin 'P' filter isn't large enough and they cannot be left on all the time for protection .

I have tried all the usual suspects, but they all seem to finish at 82mm. Neither can I find a adapter ring to take an 82 out to 105 without a risk of cut off.

A lens hood may also be a bit problematical too !!! The earlier 'S' version of the 40mm had a built in 'petal' hood, but the PS one doesn't.

Any untapped resources please

This one from SRB definitely says glass. I presume you're after a UV mc filter?

Default 105 mm filters.

That is a step in the right direction but without a hood I think I will hold out until I can find a MC Filter. This does not say if it is even single coated a sure recipe for flare. The PS lenses are all multicoated so I need to keep that advantage.
I wonder why when I looked at the SRB website it did not show this one?

I have the 40mm PS and the filter size is 95mm. I got an affordable UV filter from Kood. I also have a yellow/orange Rodenstock only because I swapped it for a lot of bits at a camera fair, dread to think what it would have cost me new.

This article does seem to confirm that the filter size is 95mm.

Hi John, as regards srb glas filters, I have used nothing else for a few years now, and the quality is surberd, I use them on all my lenses, from 24 to 105 on 35mm to 45/0 wide angle on my Mamiya and bronica 645 cameras. and have never had flare, even with against the light photos, indeed, I took some against the light photos yesterday on a 35mm camera using a 24 to 105 l3ns at 24, no lens hood and no flare, so if srb have one in the size you need then I would get one,
Richard

That is better then. I am buying it privately and was quoted the filter size as 105. I will check back and see if he made a mistake and if he actually has a lens for sale and it is not a scam. For what it is, the lens was quite cheap the street price is close to £300 for a good one and his asking price was £175. You have got me thinking..........??????

And if correct, the article also says that it has a 'built in petal shaped lens hood'.

You should look for a copy of the Bronica Manual by William Cheung. It describes, and pictures all of the lenses and accessories. It won’t teach you anything new about photography, but it covers the operation of your camera in great detail. I have found it very useful.

Looking at the images in the link the second one, where it is in side view, the writing on it says SRB Photographic, MC, UV. I would have thought the MC stood for Multi Coated?
May be worth a second look.
