Default Ilford Darkroom tent

Is anyone on here using the Ilford darkroom tent? I am thinking of getting one at some point for a stop gap before I can build a darkroom so wondered what your views are on it.

Thanks
David

Sorry no idea, Quendil, but purely speculative on my part, I'd say that given the price and Ilford's launch of it with quite a fanfare, I'd be surprised if it didn't meet the requirements needed for a genuine darkroom tent

There was a thread on here not that long ago, but at the time no one had bought one.

Looking at it again on Firstcall's website, I definitely would have bought one in the past, before having my permanent darkroom, that I have now and especially since it is so much cheaper than the Nova version.

And do report back if you make the decision to buy one.

In the beginning I had to use such a closed bed linen "bag" (cotton), I don't find the translation, as a darkroom tent for developing my sheetfilm in open trays.
A business of 15 to 20 minutes.

Today I can't tell if the film really has been more wet than me, but I still remember popping out the longing for a snorkel!

I really can't imaging enlarging and developing in a plastic tent, but waterproof persons could benefit from such a tool.

I have a feeling that Keith Tapscott (Friend) may have tried one, or at least was thinking about using one. Maybe if he sees this he will chime in.

Neil.

Hi Neil, yes I do have a Nova tent which is in my garage. It's not ideal but does the job.

Luckily I have a Nova slot processor as there's not much room for trays.

Thanks Keith - hopefully Quendil wil see this and it will be of some help.

I have seen them at exhibitions etc and thought they were a good idea and quite useable.

thanks all, I’ve had a few more responses on another forum as well and the main issue seems to be only really room for small trays and it getting hot. I think I will put the money towards getting my proper darkroom completed even if it takes longer.
