Reciprocity and Fuji Acros
Seeing the thread on reciprocity and FP4+, set me thinking.
Apparently Acros has no failure up to 2 mins and from that exposure onwards failure is small compared to most other films. Can anyone explain in relatively simple language what's different in the make-up of Acros to account for this? Thanks Mike |

Mike.
I've no idea what is different in the make up of Acros that gives such good reciprocity charecteristics but my experience is that it is true that there is no reciprocity failure up to two minutes and not much thereafter |

Thanks. My guess and that's all it is, is that whatever is in the emulsion to give it this near unique quality may be a trade secret or if it is known to other manufacturers and to keen amateur photographic chemists the cost and trouble to build it in to their films is either too much to make it justifiable or the cost to benefit ratio makes it non viable in terms of increased sales, or changes would make the emulsion qualities sufficiently differently to risk it being classified as "not the same FP4+, D100 TMax etc that the users know and love".
