Default Greetings from Oldham, Lancs

Prompted to join by a rather interesting forum thread I stumbled across. But since I'm invited to introduce myself...

I've gone digi, I'm afraid, but I'm drifting into a concentration on B&W. I'm very impressed with the mono images I see in magazines - and of course loads of these are analogue. I love the quality of old photos.

Meanwhile, I can't resist lovely old cameras and have recently picked up some really nice ones at car boot sales. And it's the attempt to put films through some of these that's got me into this forum.

I've also embarked on the task of scanning in a lifetime's collection of 35mm negatives and slides going back over 50 years.

Best regards
Bob

Welcome Bob. Give those old cameras a try and process the films yourself. If any are 6x9 120 film cameras then simple contact printing is worth a go. Relatively cheap and easy to do if you have a small relatively dark space and use it at night

Hello Bob nice to see you on the forum. I can fully understand your addiction to old cameras and hopefully you will be inspired to shoot some film.
Best of luck!

Welcome to FADU Bob.
I use a digital camera for colour images , but for B&W I just love the analogue way, I'm sure you'll get hooked when you start. I've just won an old folding roll film camera after seeing some of Richard Gould's images on here.

Hi Bob, welcome to FADU, old cameras, I think there are plenty of those in use on here, just have a look at the oldest camera thread.

Hope you decide to start developing your own, nothing quite like the dread of will it / won't it come out

Ian
