all sorted ,I was suffering from droopy loop ,as they should call it in the trade .took it apart got the mole grips out and my screw driver set and gave it some welly ,it was a bugger taking out and putting in about 3 to 4 times but I got there, now the loop goes to the right place when I open the view finder if it don't I just have to push it up a smidgen and it holds its self ,now its easy to focus

Was it you that was having the droopies? Or the camera?

I remember the text on a giveaway mug - 'old photographers don't die - they just go out of focus'. And I love the epithet 'droopy loupe'. Is this a known, time-honoured weakness of TLRs?
