Default Enlarger lens...

...and another piece of info after Barry Thornton!
He talks about this lens as something absolutely fabulous as the sharpness goes... To i bay go... to i bay to find for cheap... and it’s here, and I have tried it... and the results are unbelievable... I place side by side two prints made exactly the same except for the lens on the enlarger and yes, I can tell the difference...

So here it is, if you have not guessed yet:

Meopta Anaret, in this case the 105mm!!!

Have you something to share about it too?... Would love to hear it, of course...

I've used Nikon Enikkor,Rodenstock Rodagon and Shneider Componon S and in terms of performance it is as good or better, at least for the way I work, I have printed upn to 20x24 and it is razor sharp with very good contrast, but it is perhaps unfair to compare it to the Shneider as the meopta lenses are,I believe, made by shneider to their high standards,Richard

Sound advice, Chris...
But as I had only a Componon-S 135mm, that I use for both medium and large format, I thought about getting another only for 120 formats...
So I got the Anaret...

Should I follow your advice from now on?...

My problem has been buying lenses on ebay, where I have not been able to inspect. I now have several highly recommended lens, with fungus. I've been guilty of chasing "magic bullet" lenses for my cameras, and now given myself a gentle shake and said No More!. I need to learn how to properly use what I have.

But the Meopta does sound nice, and there's a 90mm listed on ebay, in South Africa, at a pretty good price ...
