Uwe, I'm glad you like it. Thank you for your comments.
I absolutely love your print of the house/salon in Limburg. The light is beautiful and the fairly close composition is exactly right for the subject. |

I have been prompted by Marty NL if any of our members have been affected by the recent flooding in Europe. Of particular concern to contributors to the Monthly Print Exchange is PanFrank who is a regular participant and lives on the banks of the Rhine in S. Germany.

Posted my print today.
The Rhine was up very high, but still not flooding the villages. Here they reinstated the alluvial forest, which helps a lot. Though ground water was pressing indoors nearby the river, as we could see some houses pumping out some water continuously. |

And it arrived, today!!!
Mike’s sent a picture of a narrow boat manoeuvring under a bridge at a junction on the Macclesfield and Peak Forest Canal. The overcast weather has really brought out the texture and details in the stonework and foliage, even under the arch of the bridge. And I agree about the sky tone being pale but it looks natural and familiar and it also looks a lot better than cropping the sky out altogether. Many thanks, Martin

Mitch's print arrived this morning. It is a very successful square composition of a Cumbrian mountain-top (Haycock) view towards the sea, with a sky of well-defined big clouds. It is low-key, as Mitch explains; but the landscape is relatively simple and the edge of the sea is nicely detailed. It has a look of the Irish landscape painter, Paul Henry.
Thank you, Mitch |
